Furon Co.: The Laguna Niguel manufacturer of industrial components posted a 12% gain in profit for the fiscal year ended Jan. 29, to $8.2 million, or 92 cents a share, from $7.3 million, or 84 cents a share, for the previous year. Sales for the fourth quarter, ended Jan. 29, declined 5%, to $285.2 million from $300.1 million. Quarterly profit doubled to $2.6 million, or 29 cents a share, from $1.3 million, or 15 cents a share, in the year-earlier period. Sales were down to $67.8 million from $70.6 million.
