Regional Student Films to Screen at Loyola

Loyola Marymount University will screen the regional finalists in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 21st Annual Student Academy Awards on May 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. in the school’s Mayer Theater. The screenings are free and open to the public.
A jury that includes film editor Jules Engel and Times film critic Peter Rainer will judge the films, and the winners will be announced following the screening.
Finalists in the dramatic category will be shown May 6 and animation finalists will be shown May 7. There were no experimental finalists selected in the region.
