Businesses Sought to Hire 125 Youngsters at Risk

STAR, a federally funded program that prepares at-risk youths for employment, is seeking Ventura County businesses to hire 125 youngsters.

The youths, aged 16 to 21, face such obstacles as early parenthood and learning difficulties, according to Michelle Clisby of Tomkinson & Associates, an Oxnard firm that coordinates the program in the county. “Children in our community shouldn’t grow up without hope,” Clisby said.
