A Survivor Remembers

It seems to me unreal that I live and watch the Oscars, where “Schindler’s List” won as best picture. Tears run down my face.

In my mind’s eye I can see my whole family in the gas chambers gasping for breath, among them my 12-year-old brother. I hear his screams, see his outstretched arms. But nobody helped the Jews then.

I survived to remember, and I say to you the skinheads are not a passing fad. They are real. I saw the German Hitler Youth. I was there when it started.
