Pump Prices Head Upward: Gasoline prices rose more than half a penny a gallon on average during the past two weeks, the Lundberg Survey of 10,000 service stations showed. The nationwide average price of gasoline on May 6, including all grades, services and taxes, was $1.1357 a gallon, up 0.61 of a cent over the April 22 poll, said survey publisher Trilby Lundberg. She blamed the slight rise on stronger crude oil prices and refinery implementation of costlier spring and summer clean air fuel recipes.
