A New Appreciation

How wonderful that Knott’s Berry Farm’s new attraction, Mystery Lodge, is a life-affirming blend of old mythology and new technology rather than just another cartoon-oriented thrill ride (“Reflection: Lodge’s Most Special Effect,” May 31).

And isn’t it ironic that after so many years of purposely destroying the American Indian cultures in the arrogant, ethnocentric belief that we are civilizing them, we now turn back to the myth and culture of the Native Americans to find a positive lesson of life and family and hope?
