Carter Hawley Changes Corporate Name: Carter Hawley Hale Stores’ shareholders approved a proposal to change the corporate name to Broadway Stores Inc. The Los Angeles-based company operates the Broadway department stores. The company’s management wanted to associate the corporate name with its chain. More than 99% of the company’s stock was voted in favor of the name change.
