WORLD CUP USA ’94 / THE FIRST ROUND : Spotlight : GETTING THE WORD

The results of a telephone poll commissioned by World Cup ’94 found that 90% of those polled in the nine venue cities were able to identify the World Cup as a soccer tournament.

An additional 84% said they were aware that the World Cup is happening in the United States. According to the Roper poll, 65% of those surveyed said they would like to see a professional soccer league in the United States.
