Litton Gets Contract for More Destroyers: Litton Industries Inc. said it was given an $836.7-million contract from the Navy to build three additional Aegis class destroyers at Litton’s Ingalls shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss. The award is part of the Navy’s recently announced plan to temporarily abandon competitive bids and divide construction awards for destroyers between Beverly Hills-based Litton and Bath Iron Works Corp. in order to maintain an industrial base for ships. The Navy has already ordered 32 of the destroyers, including 14 from Ingalls.
