Starship Supplies: One “Star Trek” fan is hoping that fellow Trekkies will boldly go where they’ve never gone before: The Trekker, a new Santa Ana shop featuring memorabilia from the various “Star Trek” TV shows and movies.

The Trekker “goes beyond the usual assortment of plastic figures and ship models available in toy stores,” said head Trekkie Jerry Lazar, who opened the shop after leaving a career in the escrow business. “We’ve gathered a variety of items of interest to the adult fan that could previously be found only at ‘Star Trek’ conventions or via mail order.”

Prices range from 75 cents for a Klingon bookmark to $750 for a lithograph signed by Patrick Stewart, the actor who plays Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

Lazar, 40, said he has been a Trekkie since he was 12 years old. He decided to change careers, he said, because “I was looking for something that would allow me to be 12 years old again.”
