Woman Found Dead Is Identified

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has identified the charred body found in a room in Littlerock on Sunday as 87-year-old Bernice Oda Firmes.
Firefighters discovered the body after they extinguished a blaze Sunday night at a house in the 10300 block of East Avenue R-14, deputies said.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the fire, but believe it may have been accidental, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The victim was renting a room attached to the garage, according to reports.
The fire destroyed the garage.
