Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

Bravo! Bravo! Kudos for Jeannine Stein’s brilliant expose on the cigar renaissance sweeping the U.S. (“Males Bond Around a New Fire,” Aug. 28).

Four months ago I bought some very elegant cigars for some friends and me to watch the Long Beach Grand Prix from my balcony overlooking the race course. I haven’t stopped puffing and blowing smoke rings since then and my cigarette consumption has diminished as well.

I thoroughly enjoy the image, flavor, appearance, craftsmanship and texture of my premium blended, aged cigars, though I really believe it is a very individual experience. I am really excited about going to my first cigar-night dinner with some friends. We’re all looking forward to this sensual arousal of our taste palates and olfactory senses.
