La Canada Slips Past Glendale

GLENDALE — Ray Lee took a screen pass 25 yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter, propelling La Canada High to a 14-12 nonleague victory over Glendale Thursday night.
Lee took the pass from James Wolstenholme and broke three tackles up the left sideline before reaching the end zone.
Glendale (0-2) had an opportunity to answer late in the game but its final drive stalled on the La Canada 34-yard line with 24 seconds left.
The Dynamiters took a 12-7 lead in the third quarter when Jason Klintworth scored on a 24-yard run. Klintworth gained 77 yards in 18 carries.
The Spartans (1-1) took a 7-6 lead on a two-yard run by Sam Paneno in the second quarter.
Glendale went ahead, 6-0, minutes earlier when Mauricio Pena intercepted Wolstenholme’s pass and ran 72 yards.
