Broadway Stores Posts Loss: Broadway Stores Inc. reported a loss of $18.4 million for the 13-week period ended Oct. 29, compared to a loss of $25.1 million for the same period a year ago. The Los Angeles-based retailer had third quarter sales of $474.9 million, compared to $469.7 million for the period a year ago. The company recorded a net loss of $49.3 million for the 39 weeks ended Oct. 29, compared to a loss of $77.9 million over the same period last year.
