The Florida-Florida State rivalry is rather pronounced, but the players say the real animosity is off the field.
“Both teams have trash talkers, but it’s going to be all fun,” Florida cornerback Larry Kennedy told the Orlando Sentinel. “I think the hatred will come more between the fans than the players.”
Gator coaches have even warned the players to avoid any confrontations with fans.
“I don’t think the fans will consider it a friendly rivalry,” Florida punter Shayne Edge told the Sentinel. “There may be only 30,000 people in the seats. The others will be in jail.”
