Happy Sailor

After The Times ran “Haul Away: Sailing the San Juans” (May 1), I joined a group that sailed aboard the schooner Zodiac during the last week in October and had an incredible time. On our first morning out, we pulled up fresh Dungeness crab from pots set the night before. A few days later we turned one of our scuba dives into a scallop harvest at 81 feet down, and then ate them, on deck, fresh from their shells. This is a great trip for those who are looking for something very different, yet casual, without losing the comforts of home.
