Weekend TV : Super Bowl the Big Show of the Weekend

Super Bowl XXIX, of course, is the big show Sunday, played between the San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami at 3 p.m. Kickoff is scheduled at 3:18 on ABC (Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42).
But there’s alternative programming Sunday for those not interested in the game, including:
* Eight hours of “The Andy Griffith Show,” beginning at 10 a.m. on cable’s TBS.
* Five hours of “The Machine That Changed the World,” at 1:30 p.m. on KCET-TV Channel 28.
* Four hours of “The Windsors: A Royal Family,” at 1 p.m. on KPBS-TV Channel 15.
* Eight hours of “Starsky and Hutch,” at noon on TNT.
* “The Year in Review: Black History 1994” looks at last year’s intriguing people and events at 3 p.m. on KNBC-TV Channel 4.
