The Bad Rap on Christo’s Wrap Act

Well, hurrah for Christo and his scheme to bag the Berlin Reichstag! (“A Christo Wrap on Reichstag,” Calendar, June 10). I have seen some of what must have been his earlier smaller works, created under his apparent local pseudonym: Acme Termite Fumigation. I am certain that the German project will be every bit as beautiful on a larger scale.

“Artist” Christo is ready to wrap the German Reichstag in recyclable plastic--spending only $8 million for this important event. He says, “If I had been born in Nebraska, probably this building would mean nothing to me.” I was born and grew up in Omaha. The Reichstag building interests me. It’s Christo that does not.
