Citibank Reopens Beijing Branch: The unit of New York-based Citicorp resumed full-service commercial operations there last week. Citibank has branches in Shanghai and Shenzhen and representative offices in Canton and Xiamen. The original Beijing branch was opened in 1909 but was closed during World War II, when all its branches were. Citibank re-entered China in 1983.
