Firms in Merger Talks: Los Angeles-based Weissburg and Aronson said it is in merger discussions with Foley & Lardner, a big Milwaukee-based law firm. The companies said the merger, if completed, would create the nation’s 15th-largest law firm, with more than 540 lawyers. Weissburg and Aronson has 75 lawyers and offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Sacramento. The firm has one of the largest health-care practices in the country. Foley & Larnder has more than 470 lawyers in the Midwest and Southeast. The companies said they expect merger discussions to be concluded by year’s end.
