Packaged Tours

Regarding “It May Help to Know Who’s Behind That Tour Package” (Travel Insider, Oct. 29): As an experienced travel agent, I know that there are many packaged tours offered, often from one packager--and the prices still vary. Travelers should only go with tour operators that belong to the U.S. Tour Operators Assn. (USTOA); I would never do business with a tour operator that was not a member. There are too many financially insecure companies and I am not willing to book a company that I do not trust, even if my client insists.
