Weekend Box Office : ‘Jumanji’ Edges Out ‘Toy Story’

Among the new entries, “Jumanji” opened well, edging out another film with child appeal, “Toy Story,” which is generating excellent repeat business. “Heat” turned in a strong per-screen average, particularly since its three-hour running time reduces the number of shows per day. Though romances often start slowly and build, the numbers recorded for “Sabrina” are still seen as soft by industry observers.
