Store Clerk Is Charged in Death of Shoplifter

OMAHA, Neb. — A convenience store clerk who police say shot two shoplifters for stealing beer was charged with second-degree murder Monday in the death of a 15-year-old.
Police said David Johnson, 33, grabbed a .38-caliber pistol from under the cash register in the Kwik Shop where he worked and chased the two shoplifters outside Saturday night.
Joseph Knudson, 15, was shot in the back. Hosie Ealy, 23, was wounded in the arm and leg. Police said the two were not armed.
