Council OKs Requiring Police Who Quit to Pay for Training

The Los Angeles City Council this week gave final approval to an ordinance that would require police recruits to reimburse the city for their training if they leave the department within five years.

The council also passed a resolution Tuesday urging state legislation that would force municipalities that hire law enforcement officers away from another public agency to pay the agency for the training.
