Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill,” which spent two weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. album sales chart last fall, was again the nation’s top-selling album last week, ending the five-week reign of the “Waiting to Exhale” soundtrack. Meanwhile, George Michael’s song “Jesus to a Child” debuted at No. 3 on the singles sales chart. . . . What would happen if acclaimed painter David Hockney was a car designer instead of an artist? Viewers of the L.A. County Museum of Art’s “David Hockney: A Drawing Retrospective,” which opens today, will find out. Hockney’s Art Car, a BMW 850SCi painted by the artist last spring, will be on view as part of the BMW-sponsored exhibition, which runs through April 29.
