Nation IN BRIEF : MICHIGAN : Kevorkian Refuses to Hear Arguments

From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Dr. Jack Kevorkian stuck his fingers in his ears in a gesture of disdain as lawyers at his assisted-suicide trial in Pontiac argued over whether his primary intent was to relieve suffering or simply to kill.
