Academy to Host Program of Short Films

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will host a two-part screening of “Ten Years of Live Action Short Film Oscar Winners” at the academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater, 8949 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, on Friday.
Program I at 7 p.m. features Chuck Workman’s “Precious Images” (1986), Jonathan Sanger and Jana Sue Memels “Ray’s Male Heterosexual Dance Hall” (1987), Dean Parisot and Steven Wright’s “The Appointments of Dennis Jennings” (1988), James Hendrie’s “Work Experience” (1989) and Adam Davidson’s “The Lunch Date” (1990).
Program II at 8:30 p.m. features Seth Winston and Rob Fried’s “Session Man” (1991), Sam Karmann’s “Omnibus” (1992), Pepe Danquart’s “Black Rider” (1993), Peter Capaldi and Ruth Kenley-Letts’ “Franz Kafka’s It’s a Wonderful Life” (1994), Peggy Rajski and Randy Stone’s “Trevor” (1995) and Christine Lahti and Jana Sue Memel’s “Lieberman in Love” (1996).
Tickets are $3 for academy members; $5 for all others.
