RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA — L.L. Knickerbocker Co. has acquired a 25% stake in of the outstanding shares of Insta-Heat Inc. of San Diego and Self-Heating Container Corp. of Poway, Calif., for $650,000 in cash.
Insta-Heat owns patents for self-heating packaging and container products and has licensed them to Self-Heating Container.
A spokeswoman said a previous deal to trade the California firms’ stock for L.L. Knickerbocker warrants was scrapped. L.L. Knickerbocker develops and markets grooming and gift products, including celebrity collectible dolls.
