CHAPMAN TODAY

Opponent--Cal Lutheran.

Site--Mt. Clef Field, Cal Lutheran.

Time--1.

Records--Chapman 3-0, Cal Lutheran 0-3.

Chapman update--After demolishing a NCAA Division II opponent, Chico State, 44-15, the Panthers return to the Division III level for a rare afternoon game. Quarterback Curtis Robinson, showing no effects from last season’s reconstructive knee surgery, has passed for 383 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 149 yards. Running back Darnell Morgan rushed for 94 yards against Chico State, the second time in two seasons he has been held under 100. Look for him to break free quite a bit more. Last season against Cal Lutheran, Chapman took a 38-0 lead and won 38-7. Chapman will be playing without starting linebacker Carl McRae and reserve running back Dwan London, who were arrested this week and charged with robbery after a dispute with a fellow Chapman student. McRae and London are being held at Theo Lacy Branch Jail in Orange in lieu of $10,000 bail. Their arraignment is scheduled Oct. 18.

Cal Lutheran update--The Kingsmen have had a tough early season schedule, losing to NCAA Division I-AA San Diego (44-19), La Verne (34-10) and Azusa Pacific (40-22) and today’s game doesn’t figure to be any easier. Sophomore tailback Fredrik Nanhed has missed the last two games after pulling his hamstring against San Diego but might return today.
