New Drug OKd for Type II Diabetes

The Food and Drug Administration approved a drug that can help people whose diabetes is not controlled well by other oral medications or insulin therapy. Warner-Lambert Co.’s Rezulin tablets would be aimed at patients with Type II diabetes, the most common kind. The manufacturer said the drug is the first designed to target insulin resistance, the underlying cause of Type II diabetes.
