February Restaurant Closures

The county Department of Health Services has the power to shut down food facilities for as long as necessary for the owners to correct conditions that pose a danger to the public health. Here is a list of the restaurants closed during February.

* Aling Delia Restaurant--860 E. Carson St., No. 121, Carson. Closed 2/21 to 2/24. Vermin infestation, gross contamination of food preparation surfaces.

* Bravo Cucina--1319 3rd St., Santa Monica. Closed 2/6; reopened same day. Sewage system failure.

* Buk Chang Dong Restaurant--698 S. Vermont Ave., L.A. Closed 2/25 to 2/27. Unprotected food, improper dishwashing method, vermin infestation.

* Eli’s Tacos--1564 W. Adams Blvd., L.A. Closed 2/3 to 2/5. Vermin infestation.

* George Bistro--1321 3rd St., Santa Monica. Closed 2/6 to 2/7. Sewage system failure.

* Gladstone’s 4 Fish--17310 Pacific Coast Highway, Pacific Palisades. Closed 2/18; reopened same day. Sewage system failure.

* Hiatt Seafood--415 W. Garvey Ave., Monterey Park. Closed 2/26 to 2/27. Unsafe food temperatures, no public health permit, unprotected food, vermin infestation, unsanitary equipment.

* Jack in the Box Family Restaurant--465 S. Fairfax Ave., L.A. Closed 2/21 to 2/22. No potable water supply or no hot water.

* Josie’s Kitchenette--778 N. Nogales St., Walnut. Closed 2/13 to 2/18. Unsafe food temperatures, improper sanitizing or storage of multiuse utensils, dirty walls and ceilings, vermin infestation.

* La Barca Cantina--527 W. Anaheim St., Carson. Closed 2/26 to 2/28. No potable water supply or no hot water, vermin infestation.
