Flights to Europe Selling Out Fast

Haven’t gotten plane tickets for your European vacation? You may already be out of luck on getting some dates and fares you want, industry insiders say.

“Agents tell us their bookings are going through the roof,” reports Steve Loucks, spokesman for the American Society of Travel Agents.

As a result, many lower fares are selling out early, according to Rick Fried, travel consultant with Nelson Custom Travel in North Hollywood. Booking cut-rate seats through consolidator services is “very, very difficult,” and cashing in frequent-flier miles for free tickets “is going to be a tough go if you haven’t already arranged it,” he adds.
