In the Travel section (“Hiking Into Spring,” March 30), there is a picture of about 15 tourists swimming and sunning at Havasu Falls in Arizona.
I can’t help but wonder, with a bit of sorrow for the expected answer, whether this is the same exquisitely deserted spot where Edward Abbey describes pitching his bedroll in the Havasu chapter of his book “Desert Solitaire” (University of Arizona Press, 1968).
