The child molester whose slaying of Megan Kanka led to passage of Megan’s Law pleaded with a jury in Trenton, N.J., to spare his life, taking the floor shortly after the 7-year-old’s father described her to the panel as “Mom’s little homemaker.” Jesse Timmendequas, 36, in an emotionless, 30-second statement, said he was sorry for what he did to the little girl who lived across the street. In a nearly two-hour closing argument, defense attorney Roy Greenman said Timmendequas should get life in prison because he was abused as a child.
