Taitron Components Income Up 6% for Quarter

Taitron Components Inc. posted a net income of $581,000 for the second quarter, up 6% from $550,000 last year.

The Santa Clarita-based company reported sales for the quarter that ended June 30 of $8.5 million, up 9% from $7.8 million a year earlier.

For the six months, Taitron reported earnings of $1.2 million, down 8% from $1.3 million in 1996. Revenue for the six months increased 4% over the previous year, to $16.5 million from $15.9 million a year earlier.

Taitron distributes a variety of electronic components such as transistors and semiconductors to other electronics distributors and original equipment manufacturers who incorporate them into their products.
