Re “CEOs Back in Business Trying to Shape L.A.,” Aug. 24: Why do smart people keep making the same stupid mistakes? This brain trust of 24 top CEOs should be of great value to the city and bring important benefits. But why the secrecy? Why will the membership list not be released? Since their efforts are for the betterment of the city, why can’t the gist of their reports be released?

The sports arena deal was almost killed by secrecy, which breeds suspicion. Bring the good efforts of this group out into the light so Angelenos may support and applaud it.
