As a native who does not care for dark, damp days, I applaud the efforts of those preparing for El Nino. Perhaps they are not familiar with Ernst’s Law, which proclaims: “Diligent preparation for a predicted natural disaster will assure that the disaster will not occur.” The 1997-1998 rainfall will almost certainly be on the drought side of normal.
