Antelope Valley Bounced from Sequoias by Hancock

The Antelope Valley men’s basketball team, ranked No. 8 in the state, dropped its second consecutive Sequoias tournament game, losing to Hancock, 82-76, on Friday.
The Marauders (9-5) were eliminated from the eight-team field.
Sophomore guard John Burrell scored 23 pointsfor the Marauders.
Glendale 69, Victor Valley 54--Freshman guard Tony Hoggatts had 14 points and Will Ruffin had 12 points and 13 rebounds for Glendale (6-5) in a Glendale tournament semifinal.
Glendale meets Bakersfield (12-0) in the championship game tonight at 7.
Citrus 98, Canyons 88--Woodley Polynice scored 29 points for Canyons (3-8) and Bryan Finley had 23 in a consolation semifinal of the Glendale tournament.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Manhattan 64, Pepperdine 50--Samantha Rigley scored 17 points and Dana Sulenski had 14 for Pepperdine (7-4) in a consolation game of the Northern Lights tournament in Anchorage, Alaska.
