Injured Marshall Says Hit Was Fair

Defenseman Jason Marshall suffered a second-degree separation of his right shoulder in a collision Friday with Jim McKenzie of the Phoenix Coyotes and doesn’t know how long he will be sidelined.
He did not fault McKenzie for causing the injury, which happened a moment after Marshall released a pass. Earlier on the shift, Marshall leveled McKenzie with a hard check.
“It was a good, clean hit,” he said. “He’s a big guy and I should have had my head up. When we hit it was just shoulder to shoulder.”
