Mother Sentenced for Role in Child’s Death

IRONTON, Ohio — A woman got 25 years in prison Monday for her part in the slaying of her 7-year-old daughter, whose body was found in a trash can buried in the family’s backyard.
Mona Volgares, 28, who has three other children, pleaded with Judge Frank McCown to keep her out of prison.
