American Airlines now offers half-price fares for children under age 2 on domestic and U.S.-Canada flights “to encourage use of child-safety seats.” Such children can still fly free on parents’ laps, without buying an extra seat, as allowed by FAA rules. . . . Northwest Airlines last week ended in-flight movies on domestic routes of three hours or more within the continental U.S.; there are no movies on shorter flights.. . . . We thought you’d want to know: Owners of RVs, on average, plan to grill a total of 34 hot dogs during their travels this summer, says a survey released by the Recreational Vehicle Industry Assn.
