Angel Tony Phillips might plead guilty to a drug charge and enter an Orange County diversion program that could leave him without a criminal record, his attorney said.

“There’s a fairly good chance” that [Phillips] will resolve an open drug-case against him by pleading guilty later this month,” said defense attorney Allan H. Stokke.

The plea could qualify Phillips, as a first-time offender, for a diversion program that includes drug counseling and testing. Phillips then could have the incident stricken from his record.
