After a bouncing ball went under his glove for a three-run double in the first inning of Game 1, Atlanta’s Chipper Jones felt like he was personally responsible for the 5-3 loss.

So in Game 2, the switch-hitter went 3 for 5, drove in three runs, scored twice and fielded his position flawlessly as the Braves rolled to 7-1 victory.

Jones, already a leader in the clubhouse at 25, has developed a system for bouncing back from a bad game.

“I’ll take a ride home with my spouse, cuss and rant and rave in the car, but once I get home, just forget about it,” he said. “Sure, I felt bad about [Game 1], but there is nothing I can do about it anymore.”
