There have been many one-sided transactions in the history of baseball, but none more so than a deal between the Atlanta Braves and the Southern Minny Stars of the independent Prairie League.

The Braves acquired right-hander Kerry Ligtenberg for six dozen baseballs and two dozen bats. That’s right, a player for equipment.
