Thank you for the Weekend Escape article on my hometown of Oakland (“Neighborhood Watch,” Oct. 5), and the positive information you provided to the public on historic sites in the city. So much negative publicity has come out in the past on this historic city by the bay, and it is refreshing to see and experience the mystique that is a part of “Oaktown” life.
