Plane Hits Truck Crossing Runway

JOHNSON VALLEY — A pickup truck crossing the intersection of a road and runway was broadsided by a small plane as it landed Friday, trapping the truck’s occupants and sending four people to hospitals.
The truck’s driver, James Tennyson, 41, of Hesperia, did not receive any citations, Cox said.
His brother and passenger, John Tennyson, was in guarded condition in the intensive care unit at San Bernardino County Hospital, being treated for cuts and internal injuries.
The plane’s student pilot, Timothy Losch, 28, of Redlands, suffered a cut over his eye and was treated at St. Mary’s. Instructor Stephen Lehman, 45, of Mentone suffered a cut wrist. Fellow instructor Jon Hook, 49, of Menton was uninjured.
