* Ojai Valley Inn will host the first Jimmie Heuga Golf Invitational on Sept. 29 to benefit people with multiple sclerosis.
Heuga, a bronze medal-winning skier in the 1964 winter Olympics, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1970.
Entry into the tournament is $250. Register by calling (800) 646-5359.
* Tryouts for the Valley Breeze 18-and-under fast-pitch softball club team will take place Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at El Cariso Park in San Fernando.
