What Are You Drinking?

“I’ve only been winemaker here for the last two months, so I’ve spent most of my time trying to figure out the Chalone wines. I did have a bottle of the Rochioli Pinot Noir the other day, and that is just super stuff. They always make great wine. I like Pinots when they’re super-jammy, almost overripe. I’m a sucker for those Russian River types. They also have a kind of tarry character that is real pleasant and adds depth.”
