Banks Don’t Really Want Small Accounts

I’m sick and tired of hearing the banks whine about credit unions taking away customers [“Senate Backs Expanded Reach for Credit Unions,” July 29].

Banks say that small accounts cost them money. Banks also have a strange way of saying thank you to customers for their business--by charging more and more fees (unless you’re one of a fortunate few who have a large account--then the fees are waived).

Well, banks, what do you expect? You’re driving the customers away. You have no one to blame but yourselves.
