Decision on Gang Injunction Delayed

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has delayed until today a ruling on a preliminary injunction against a street gang that police say has intimidated, terrorized and extorted residents and merchants near the USC campus.

If approved by Judge Reginald A. Dunn, the injunction will make it illegal for 29 of the gang’s members to associate with each other in public.

The request for an injunction is the fifth by the city attorney’s office since a January 1997 state Supreme Court ruling allowed cities to prohibit suspected gang members from associating on street corners or annoying residents.
